Feed (raw material) costs and quality significantly impact energy, chemical, manufacturing or metallurgical operation profitability and are critical to long term raw material supply agreements.  Make or buy is the first question for a consumer.  Matches estimates the manufacturing cost of raw materials either from a supplier's or consumer's point of view or both.  These estimates show the impact of various operating costs and give an insight into how inflation impact a raw material's future costs.  This improves understanding of the make/buy decision and allows analysis of contract inflation factors. 

The second question is what is the impact of impurities in a raw material.  Impurities lead to pollution.  Matches estimates the impact of feed quality on operations - additional raw material must be purchased and handled, the impurity must be removed and handled, and the resulting waste requires disposal.  Knowing the cost of these allows the development of penalties for feed impurities that reflect a consumer's costs.  These costs focuses the supply decisions on "What is the most cost effective raw material?"   This type of cost analysis improves negotiations in purchasing raw materials .
